Parent's First Call
Parent's First Call is designed to connect a newly diagnosed family or a family who is new to the area with a trained parent volunteer. Volunteers provide accurate, up-to-date information and answer questions in a confidential and supportive manner. They also deliver a basket with resources, books, and gifts that is specially prepared by the Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas. New Family Brunch is held twice each year so families can get together and learn about DSPNT and meet other families. Those are held in May and October.
Parent Volunteers Needed:
If you are the parent of a child with Down syndrome and would like to be a mentor to new parents, please plan to attend our next Parent's First Call training. Email Elyse to reserve your spot.
For Hospitals and Medical Staff:
If you have a parent who is expecting a baby with Down syndrome or just had a baby, you can download a New Parent Release form, send it to DSPNT and we can reach out with a trained, parent volunteer and new parent basket. Resources are available in English and Spanish.
